Trent works with the Mariner Team on all aspects of the real estate development process, leveraging his extensive experience in the business to initiate and deliver innovative projects. As the managing development partner for Carter & Associates he led a development team of up to 50 professionals, delivering office, retail, industrial and mixed-use projects.
During his tenure of leadership, Carter achieved an average ranking of sixth nationally in office and mixed-use development (according to National Real Estate Investor rankings), demonstrating his ability to navigate the complexities of the industry. Tens of millions of square feet were delivered as part of the “The Metro Plan” which required the simultaneous delivery of 2.7 million SF across three major campuses in Atlanta, GA and Cincinnati, OH.

Ian started his real estate career in Dallas with Charter Properties in 1994. Charter was a community developer for numerous national homebuilders operating in the Dallas Ft. Worth market as well as a developer of retail properties and an investor in distressed real estate debt. In 1996 he moved back to Atlanta and joined Southeast Management and Leasing Corp. While at Southeast Ian was directly responsible for the execution of the development and acquisition of multiple projects in the industrial, office and retail product lines.
In 2007, Ian formed Knightswood, a company engaged in distressed real estate debt investment and the acquisition and development of office, industrial, retail, manufactured home parks, and land. Knightswood currently owns a portfolio of approximately 1.6 million square feet of diversified properties throughout the Southeast.
Ian co-founded Mariner Group with Trent Germano in 2012.
Henry has been involved in the management of over $530 million worth of development projects during his tenure at Mariner. This encompasses eight separate vertical structures and one ongoing land investment, with seven multifamily projects delivered at 1600+ units. He has led the closing of $350+ million in construction capital and disposition of $220+ million in assets.
He has been in the real estate industry since 2011, when he began his career at Stirling Properties in New Orleans. There he worked as a sales and leasing broker. He moved back to Atlanta in 2013 to join Transwestern’s Investment Sales team as a financial analyst. In 2014, he joined Transwestern’s Southeast Development Division as a development manager.
Henry joined Mariner Group in 2016. In addition to providing project management oversight, he coordinates the financial underwriting for future projects, services existing capital partner relationships, and leads the asset management responsibilities of the firm.
Jamie began his career in the medical device industry, where he was responsible for supply chain, cost management, quality control, shipping logistics, and multi-million dollars in shipped revenue. Moving back to his hometown of Atlanta from San Francisco, Jamie joined Mariner Group in 2019 to initially assist with construction, design, and leasing coordination.
With Mariner’s latest developments, Pilot & Park and Marion Lake, Jamie has been responsible for coordinating all facets of ground up development through financing, construction management and asset management. Jamie has been involved in the management of over $300 million worth of development projects including five vertical ventures, nearly 1200 units delivered, and one ongoing land investment.
He also oversees management of The Park at Eastern Wharf in Savannah, a $400,000 year-round programming and entertainment operation. Jamie graduated from Colgate University in 2011 where he was an all-league selection for the school’s football team.
Lawson joined Mariner Group in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience in project management and construction. With a primary focus on preconstruction coordination, design management, and project delivery, Lawson works to ensure the seamless execution and success of complex development projects.
In addition to project management, Lawson contributes to the financial underwriting, draw management, and asset management of every project. Before joining Mariner Group, Lawson began his career with Balfour Beatty Construction, where he excelled as a Project Manager.
During his tenure, he successfully delivered over $150 million worth of projects, spanning high-rise construction and multifamily developments. His portfolio includes the completion of 193 hotel keys and 340 apartment units, demonstrating his capability in managing large-scale and diverse projects. Lawson holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction from Georgia Southern University.
